Symptoms
- “Update subscription failed” error
- “404” or “Network error” when importing
- Server list is empty after importing
- Old servers disappear after updating
Common causes and fixes
1. Expired or invalid link
Your subscription link may have been regenerated or your account may have expired.
Fix:
- Log in to your dashboard
- Go to the subscription section
- Click Copy subscription link
- Replace the old link in your app with the fresh one
- Try updating again
2. Network blocks the API endpoint
Some networks block the domain where our subscription API is hosted.
Fix:
- Try updating the subscription while connected to a different network (e.g., mobile hotspot)
- Use a friend’s VPN temporarily to download the subscription, then switch back to SericaVPN
- Contact us for an alternative subscription delivery method
3. App cache is stale
The app may be caching an old or corrupted subscription response.
Fix by app:
- Hiddify: Settings → Subscription → Delete the old subscription → Re-add with the new link
- V2RayNG: Subscription settings → Delete → Re-add
- Streisand: Remove the old config → Re-import from URL
4. Time and date mismatch
If your device’s clock is significantly off, TLS handshakes to our API will fail.
Fix:
- Make sure your device time is set to automatic
- On Windows: Settings → Time & language → Set time automatically
- On mobile: Settings → Date & time → Use network-provided time
5. DNS blocking the API domain
Your ISP or network may be returning fake DNS results for our API domain.
Fix:
- Change your device’s DNS to 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare) or 8.8.8.8 (Google) before updating the subscription
- Some apps allow setting a custom DNS just for subscription updates
Test the link manually
Paste your subscription link into a web browser. You should see a plain text or JSON response with server configurations. If you see an error page, the link is invalid or blocked.
